Sanctuary Shattered Sun Titans (T5) Explained

How Tier-5 Titans work: cost, role as stalemate-enders, Shatter synergy, and what the Kickstarter demo showcases.

T5 Titans

Few Sanctuary armies ever field a Titan — and fewer still survive fighting one. Titans sit at the top of the tech level ladder (T5): colossal experimental war machines that exist to break late-game stalemates when conventional armor and artillery trade into a deadlock on the Dyson Sphere.

Why Titans Exist

Enhearten Media designers describe Titans alongside Shatter (map-breaking) and Freeze (weather) as the three “hero features” of Sanctuary. Where superweapons rewrite terrain and weather control opens new invasion routes, Titans are the mobile answer to fortified lines that refuse to collapse.

Kickstarter-era interviews (July 2026) emphasize that building a Titan demands enormous Flux and alloy commitment. If your flux economy is brown-outing, you will never finish the chassis before the enemy King-Piece walks through your undefended expansion.

Demo vs Full Vision

The July 21, 2026 Steam demo is a pre-alpha slice focused on single-player scenarios. It teaches the feel of escalating tech and experimental pressure, but the complete Titan roster, balance, and multiplayer presence deepen toward Early Access (~March 2027). Treat demo Titan moments as a vertical slice, not the final T5 meta.

How to Fund a Titan

  1. Stabilize Flux with redundant extractors and power.
  2. Climb tech levels without starving army production.
  3. Reclaim wrecks after major clashes to refund alloys.
  4. Protect the build site — Titans under construction are high-value targets.
  5. Coordinate with Attack Move screens so your Titan does not walk alone into artillery.

Fighting an Enemy Titan

See our dedicated guide: How to fight Titans. Short version: never duel a Titan with equal-tech blobs; use terrain Shatter, Freeze chokepoints, focused experimental fire, and commander threats to force a retreat.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What does T5 mean?

The highest tech tier currently marketed for Sanctuary — home of Titans and other experimentals.

Can every faction build Titans?

All three launch factions are designed around late-game experimentals; exact chassis differ by roster.

Are Titans required to win?

No. Many games end via King-Piece assassination or economy collapse before a Titan finishes.

Do Titans replace superweapons?

No — they complement Shatter/Freeze. Titans are units; superweapons reshape the map.
