Sanctuary Shattered Sun System Requirements Checker

Sanctuary: Shattered Sun is one of the most hardware-intensive RTS demos released in 2026. Battles simulating thousands of units on 40 km Dyson Sphere maps stress CPU, RAM, and GPU simultaneously. Before you commit to a 25 GB download, use the interactive checker above to compare your hardware against official minimum and recommended specifications from the Steam store page.

This page explains what each requirement means, why the demo demands more than typical strategy games, and how to improve performance if you are borderline.

Why Sanctuary Is Demanding

Enhearten Media built Sanctuary on DOTS technology to simulate projectiles, units, and destruction at scale. Pre-alpha optimization is incomplete, so minimum specs feel tighter than a polished AAA RTS. Large mid-game fights spike RAM usage; integrated GPUs struggle with draw calls even if the checker passes minimum GPU tier nominally.

If the tool rates you May Struggle, you can still try the demo — lower graphics presets, close background apps, and avoid massive unit counts until patches land on our demo updates page.

Performance Tips

  • Install on SSD to reduce load stutter.
  • Start at Medium graphics; raise after stable frame times.
  • Allow first-launch shader compilation to finish.
  • Update GPU drivers before blaming the game.
  • Meet recommended 32 GB RAM if you multitask while playing.

Once your PC qualifies, start with how to play the demo and how to beat the first mission. Compare the experience in our demo review and plan for Early Access via the release date tracker.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can I run Sanctuary with 8 GB RAM?

No. Steam lists 16 GB as the official minimum. Below that, expect crashes or severe stutter.

Does the checker guarantee performance?

No. It compares tier estimates. Actual FPS depends on drivers, background apps, and battle size.

Is Linux supported?

Not yet. The demo explicitly warns it does not run properly on Linux.

Will Steam Deck work?

Varies. Minimum specs exceed Deck defaults for large battles. Treat as experimental.

What if I am below minimum?

Wait for optimization patches or upgrade RAM/GPU. Track updates on our demo page.

Do requirements change after Early Access?

Possible as features expand. Recheck this page after major patches.
